Barbara (Bridges) Brownlee

Barbara Bridges Brownlee, age 79, of Pineland, Texas, passed away Friday, August 13, 2021, at her home surrounded by family.

Barbara was born May 27, 1942, in Macon, Georgia. She was the only child of Walter S. and Catherine Nell Bridges. Barbara was a graduate of Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, holding degrees in Biology and Chemistry, and also a Master’s in Education.

She was an avid animal lover. She enjoyed reading, knitting, and gardening. 

Barbara was preceded in death by parents, Walter S. and Catherine Nell Bridges; husband, Dennis Edward “Leo” Brownlee; daughter, Whitney Lynn Goetter; and sons, Dennis Edward Brownlee Jr. and Gordon Delbert Brownlee.

She is survived by her sons, Benjamin Dodds Goetter, Phillip Kennon Brownlee, and Peter Webb Brownlee; daughters, Tracy Paige Brownlee-Moody, Dana Dowling Brownlee, and Kristena Pivovar; 17 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 21, 2021, at Wyman Roberts Funeral Home chapel, located at 316 W. Columbia Street in San Augustine, Texas.
