Barbara Fisk Miller was born September 27, 1951, in Dumas, Texas, to Jesse Fisk and Erin Pergerson Fisk. After a brief illness, she unexpectedly passed from this world on May 19, 2026, in the arms of her loving sons, J.D. and Ben.
Barbara married the love of her life, John David Miller Sr., in 1975. They moved from Amarillo to John's hometown of San Augustine in 1980. She enjoyed fishing, puzzles, playing slot machines, and most all, spending time with her sons. She attended every baseball game, football game, scouting event, rodeo, and civic event that her sons were involved in.
She was proud of her granddaughters, Sayde, Maggie, Ashley, and Daphne; and enjoyed her three great-grandchildren, Dalli, Paxton, and Arli Jae. Barbara's bright blue eyes and big smile always lit up a room. Her fun energy and love for life will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her sons, J.D. Miller Jr. and his wife, Bonnie, and Ben Miller and his wife Jade, all of San Augustine; granddaughters, Ashley Miller, Daphne Runnels, Sayde Miller, and Maggie Miller; three great grandchildren; brothers, Charlie Fisk and his wife Suzane of Hawkins, Texas, and Doug Fisk and his wife Elaine of Amarillo, Texas; a bonus daughter, Alice Carrell, and husband Nick, along with Macy and Barrett; bonus nephew, Renaldo Davis; and a host of other nieces and nephews.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, John David Miller Sr.; parents, Jesse and Erin Fisk; and a brother, Robert Fisk.
A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 6, 2026, at the Wyman Roberts Memorial Chapel with Michael Malone officiating.
