Bernice (Blankenship) Evett

Bernice (Blankenship) Evett, age 78, of San Augustine, passed away Sunday, November 26, 2023, at Parkwood in the Pines in Lufkin, Texas.

She was born October 27, 1945, in Dallas, Texas, to parents John and Edna (Allen) Blankenship. She worked in the banking industry as a loan officer at 1st National Bank in San Augustine, Texas. She also worked for State Insurance for several years. She was a member of Attoyac Missionary Baptist Church.

Her survivors include husband Leonard Evett of San Augustine; son John Evett of Lufkin; daughter Sondra Prothro and husband Mike of Apple Springs; grandchildren Mika McMullen, Myles Prothro, Krystal Lofton; great-grandchildren Connor Kaufman, Bradyn Kaufman, Leighton Lofton; sister Mary Perry; brother Charlie Blankenship.

She was preceded in death by her parents John and Edna Blankenship; 3 brothers and 1 sister. 

Funeral services are set for 2:00 pm Saturday, December 2, 2023, at Wyman Roberts Funeral Home Chapel, located at 316 W. Columbia Street in San Augustine, Texas, Elton Goodwin officiating.. Burial will follow at Attoyac Cemetery, San Augustine County, Texas. 

Pallbearers include Myles Prothro, Garrett Innerarity, Rick Golembieski, Kenneth Jones, Nick Sellers, Noah Sellers.
