Betty Joy Williams Crocker, 81, of Broaddus, Texas, entered into rest Thursday, December 28, 2023, in San Augustine, Texas, after an illness.
She was born May 21, 1942, in San Augustine County to parents Paddie and Agnes (Hodges) Williams and was a member of Yellow Ridge Baptist Church. Betty graduated from Broaddus High School in 1961 and attended Massey Business College.
She married Curtis Thomas Crocker on April 15, 1961, and they moved to North Carolina while Curtis was serving in the U.S. Coast Guard. After his retirement, they lived in Houston and later Broaddus.
They were blessed to have four children, Kevin, Cliff, Glen, and Melissia. Betty loved all of her family. She made sure she took care of everyone and could make you laugh. She was a loving, caring, and hard working wife, mother, and nanny.
Her survivors include her step-son, Kevin Crocker and wife Margi; son, Cliff Crocker; daughter, Melissia Fountain and husband Joe; grandchildren, Eric Crocker and wife Kate, Curt Crocker and wife Kristin, Glen Wagstaff, Jennifer Wagstaff, Zachory Crocker, and Savannah Martin; great-grandchildren, Lane Harvey, Blayze Crocker, Mattie Crocker, Lucy Crocker, and Crosby Crocker; sisters-in-law, Gwen City, Bonnie Newton, and Velma Jo Rogers; and a host of other great-grandchildren, family, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Thomas Crocker; parents, Paddie and Agnes Williams; a son, Glen Miles Crocker; grandsons, Kenneth Wagstaff and Zane Crocker; brothers, Harlon Williams and Marlin Williams; and a nephew, Wilbur Williams.
Funeral services are set for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 30, 2023, at Wyman Roberts Funeral Home chapel, located at 316 W. Columbia Street in San Augustine, with Bro. T.A. Lane officiating. Committal service and interment will follow at the Broaddus Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the chapel.
Pallbearers: Joseph Moon, Joe Fountain, Kenneth Fountain, Trea Thacker, Brandon Barthol, and Daniel Hartfield. Honorary pallbearer: Travis Crocker.
