Brenda Alford, age 61, of San Augustine, Texas, passed away Friday, November 29, 2024, at her residence.
Brenda was born August 30, 1963, in Houston, Texas, to parents James and Joyce Cunningham and had lived in the San Augustine area for a number of years. She was a member of Providence Missionary Baptist Church. Brenda also actively served in the San Augustine Women's Service League for a number of years in several capacities and spearheading a number of projects and drives. She loved spending time with her family. Always there for her girls' rodeo and all sports events which carried over to her grandchildren's softball and volleyball. She loved saltwater fishing, roller coasters, and theme parks.
Brenda worked in banking for over 40 years in our community. She began her career at First National Bank, which is currently PNC Bank. Most recently Brenda was serving as a vice-president at the Commercial Bank of Texas (CBTx) San Augustine branch.
Loved ones left to cherish her memory, include her husband, Keith Alford of San Augustine, Texas; daughters, Barbara Pressley and husband Dustin of Lufkin, Texas, and Kayla Cowdin and husband Dustin of Carlsbad, New Mexico; and grandchildren, Reese Pressley, Remi Pressley, Elsi Cowdin, and Deacon Cowdin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Joyce Cunningham; and a brother, Michael Cunningham.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 1, 2024, at Wyman Roberts Funeral Home, located at 316 W. Columbia Street in San Augustine, Texas.
Funeral services are set for 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 1, 2024, at the Wyman Roberts Memorial Chapel with Bro. Andy Wilson officiating. Committal service and interment will follow at Liberty Hill Memorial Garden in San Augustine.
Pallbearers include Ronnie Caston, Eric Johnson, Phillip Scarborough, Henry Goode, Robert Griffin, David Griffin. Honorary Pallbearers include Hunter Perry, Dennis Barnes, Boo Klein.
