Connie Jeanne (Shutter) Shaw

Connie Jeanne (Shutter) Shaw of San Augustine, Texas, passed away Friday, September 30, 2022, at the age of 55 years, 4 months, 5 days.

She was born May 25, 1967, in Beaumont, Texas, to parents George Andrew Shutter and Bennie “Jody” (Dickerson) Shutter. She was a longtime resident of San Augustine County, Texas.

Connie found great pleasure in cooking and sewing. She always loved playing a game of chess or 42 and enjoyed arts and crafts projects. Connie could light up a room with her radiant personality. She was the most loving, caring and unselfish person… if she liked you!

On May 26, 2012, Connie married Ray Shaw. They had first met in the second grade and then reconnected with their first date being at Homecoming 2011.

Connie’s words describing herself, “I’m built for speed and accuracy, Baby!”

Her survivors include her husband, Ray Shaw of San Augustine, Texas; two sons, Justin Cole Holmes of Newton, Texas, and Gregory Allen Martin of Kirbyville, Texas; her brothers, Jerry Baird Shutter and wife Aimee of San Augustine, Texas, and Dale Mason Shutter and wife Kim of Nacogdoches, Texas; a sister, Colleen Elizabeth Maldonado and husband Roger of Roxborough Park, Colorado; her parents-in-law, Alton and Brenda Shaw of San Augustine, Texas; 7 nieces; and 2 nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George A. and Jody Shutter; and two nieces, Josey Shutter and Masey Shutter.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 3, 2022, at Wyman Roberts Funeral Home, located at 316 W. Columbia Street in San Augustine, Texas.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 3, 2022, at Wyman Roberts Memorial Chapel with Bro. Randy Mills officiating. Interment will follow at Antioch Cemetery, located on Hwy. 147 North in San Augustine County, Texas.

Pallbearers: Keith Alford, Rusty Birdwell, Max Mangan, Lynndale Tarver, Dale Warr Jr., and Jody Pickard.
