Daniel Arthur Olson Jr.

Mr. Daniel Arthur Olson Jr., age 53, of San Augustine, Texas, passed away suddenly Sunday, October 6, 2024, in San Augustine County.

"Danny" was born September 21, 1971, in San Augustine, Texas, to parent Betty Louise (Mosley) and Daniel Arthur Olson Sr. and was a lifelong area resident. He had worked as a mechanic and truck driver. Danny was also a whiz working with computers, repairing as well as programming and operation. He loved outdoor activities with fishing being his passion. Danny never met a stranger and was always ready to help or give in any way to benefit others.

His survivors include his wife, Amanda Clopton Olson; children, Jacob Olson of Shelbyville, Texas, Tabatha Olson McMillian and husband Loyce of Tyler, Texas, Brooke Cotton of Galveston, Texas, and Jacob Johnson of Galveston, Texas; grandchildren, Niya, Serenity, Skylar, Kobe, and Rayne McMillian, all of Tyler, Texas; his sister, Elizabeth "Lisa" McCary of Huntington, Texas; a half-brother, John Hogg of Land O'Lakes, Florida; uncle, Arthur James "AJ" Mosley of San Augustine, Texas; step-dad, Ronald "Pop' Sullivan of Powder Springs, Georgia; nephew, Mike McCary of Pollok, Texas; niece, Tiffany White of Tyler, Texas; along with a host of other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his father, Daniel Arthur Olson Sr.; and his mother, Betty Louise Mosley; daughter, Star Danielle Olson; maternal grandparents, AJ and Annie Maurine Mosley; paternal grandparents, Daniel K. Olson and Donna M. Haviland; and uncles, Donald Ray Mosley and Robert Earl Mosley.

A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 10, 2024, at Wyman Roberts Memorial Chapel, located at 316 W. Columbia Street in San Augustine, Texas.
