David Lee Scott

Mr. David Lee Scott of Broaddus passed away Saturday, May 25, 2024, at CHI St. Luke’s Medical Center in Lufkin at the age of 60 years, 5 months, 10 days.

David was born December 15, 1963, in Brazoria County to parents Homer and Martha (Coffey) Scott and had lived in Broaddus for several years, where he was a member of First Baptist Church. He was also a member of Broaddus Masonic Lodge #1112. He was a hard worker and retired from Lufkin Industries Inc. as a field representative.

Outdoor events and activities were a passion for David, especially loving hunting and fishing. There was a great love shared between David and his family and spending time with them was important. He was “Pico” to his family and grandchildren.

His survivors include his wife, Donna Renee Wells Scott of Broaddus; a son, Jared David Scott of Broaddus; a daughter, Kellie LeAnn Scott Thomas and husband Lewis Charles Thomas of Broaddus; grandchildren, Jordan Alayla Thomas, Easton Lee Thomas, and Devin Jade Thomas, all of Broaddus; his father, Homer Junior Scott of Broaddus; parents-in-law, Dewey and Maudie Wells of Broaddus; and his sisters, Dena Williford of Tyler, Becky Scott of Brookeland, and Linda Parker and husband David of Broaddus.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Martha Scott; brothers, Tommy Scott, Danny Scott, Bobby Scott, Barry Scott, and Jerry Scott; and a sister, Belinda Scott.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at Broaddus Cemetery, located off Hwy. 147. Dr. Wayne Barth will be officiating and rites presented by Broaddus Masonic Lodge #1112.

Pallbearers: Derick Williford, Johnathan Spoon, Brandon Wells, Kris Burch, Jimmy Lee Scott, and Trey Bridges Honor pallbearers are Rusty Wells, Jerry Walker Jr., J.R. Myrann, Jason Beddingfield, and Wesley Perry.
