Donna Nell (Lane) Gray

Mrs. Donna Nell (Lane) Gray, age 82, of Broaddus, Texas, passed away Sunday, July 5, 2026, at Legacies Care Center in Hemphill, Texas.

Mrs. Gray was born December 20, 1943, in Baytown, Texas, to parents Melva Ruth (Daniel) and Dennis Walter Lane. After living in the Houston area for several years, she and her husband moved to the Broaddus area approximately 30 years ago even though they had been property owners and frequent visitors to the area since 1980.

Donna retired from the Sheldon School District, where she faithfully served as a teacher's aide for many years. She loved various craft projects and also took great pride in her yard... gardening and potted flowers.

Her survivors include her husband of 64 years, Gary B. Gray of Broaddus, Texas; a daughter, Patty Coates and her husband Terry of League City, Texas; son, Karl B. Gray and wife Theresa of Splendora, Texas; grandson, Landon Gray and wife Kendall of Crosby, Texas; great-grandson, Brooks Gray of Crosby, Texas; a brother-in-law, Thomas Earl Gray of Magnolia, Texas; and a host of other relatives and loved ones.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Melva and Dennis Lane; a brother, Jerry Lane; and sisters, Jennette Owens and Carol Granger.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 9, 2026, at the Oak Grove Church near Broaddus, Texas, with Dr. W. Wayne Barth officiating. Interment will be at Oak Grove Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Karl Gray, Landon Gray, Lath Maywald, Brian Modisette, Rusty Traylor, and Terry Coates.

The family will receive visitors at the church one hour prior to the service.
