Elaine (Collins) Butler

Mrs. Elaine Collins Butler, age 84, of San Augustine, Texas, passed away Sunday, March 22, 2026, in Longview, Texas.

Elaine was born June 8, 1941, to parents Henry Weischel Collins and Beatrice Walton Collins. She was the wife of the late S.J. Butler and a member of San Augustine Missionary Baptist Church.

After graduating from Tyler Commercial College, she went to work for Deep East Texas Electric Co-op with more than 38 years of service as accounting supervisor.

She enjoyed working in the yard with her husband and on several occasions received the "Yard of the Month" award from the San Augustine Garden Club. Elaine also enjoyed riding the Kubota around the farm with her husband and seeing the Black Brangus cattle.

Elaine was preceded in death by her husband, S.J. Butler; parents, Henry Weichsel Collins and Beatrice Walton Collins; sister, Frances Jones; and brothers, Henry W. "Fred" Collins and Benny Collins.

Her survivors include several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at Rosevine Cemetery, located on FM 1 in Sabine County's Rosevine community, with Bro. Cliff Durham officiating.
