Freddie Sue (McElroy) Lewis, 71, of San Augustine County passed away Monday, November 15, 2021, at Colonial Pines Health Care Center in San Augustine.
Freddie Sue was born January 21, 1950, to parents Melba Nell (Mitchell) and Robert Howell McElroy and was a lifelong resident of the San Augustine and Hemphill areas. After graduation from San Augustine High School in 1968, she attended Massey Business School. She retired from the Texas Department of Human Services as a case worker and attended First Baptist Church.
Her survivors include her daughters, Cynthia Beard of Hemphill, Texas, and Susan Lewis of San Augustine County; a grandson, Anthony DeRouen Jr. of San Augustine County; and a brother, Charles Thomas McElroy and wife Teresa of Hallsville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Melba Nell and Robert Howell McElroy; siblings, Sally Ann Masters, Robert Earl McElroy, and Melba Lynn McElroy; and a son-in-law, Robert Beard.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at Wyman Roberts Funeral Home, located at 316 W. Columbia Street in San Augustine.
Graveside services are set for 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 18, 2021, at the Shiloh Cemetery, located on County Road 220 off FM 354 in San Augustine County's Denning Community.
Pallbearers: Anthony DeRouen Jr., Brandon Lewis, Chad Hamilton, Travis Lewis, Brennon Lewis, and Brad Lewis.
