Mr. George Arthur "Yellow Dog" Shultz, 78, of San Augustine, Texas, passed away Saturday, November 25, 2023, at his residence.
Mr. Shultz was born October 5, 1945, in Fostoria, Ohio, to parents George Arthur and Orpha Jean (Yeager) Shultz. He faithfully served his country in the U.S. Army, making that his career until retirement in 1984. Mr. Shultz served during the Vietnam and Korean eras and was a Purple Heart award recipient.
In later years, "Yellow Dog" and his wife Marty were longtime residents of the Toledo Bend area in Sabine County, Texas, before moving to their new home near San Augustine in 2020.
His survivors include his wife, Marty Shultz of San Augustine; a daughter, Jean Hogard of Edmund, Oklahoma; sons, George Arthur Shultz III and Guy Shultz, both of Washington State; and brothers and sisters.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George Arthur and Orpha Jean Shultz.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at Wyman Roberts Funeral Home chapel in San Augustine, Texas.
An inurnment with memorial honors is being planned later at Fort Sill, Oklahoma.
