Mrs. Glenda Harrison, 76, one of the most pure-hearted, creative, and giving humans has passed away on Friday, April 26, 2024, after a very short battle with cancer. She was born August 27, 1947, in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
My mother and best friend and a friend to so many will be treasured always in our hearts and minds. As a mother and grandmother, through sacrifice and hard work, she always made sure we had what we needed from Day 1 and taught us the value of being independent in this world. Her strength was unmatched as well as her devoted love and support.
She was a very talented artist. A creator of unique works, seasonal pieces, and great gift ideas who found solace, joy, and peace in the act of creating and putting that beauty into the world for all to enjoy! Her most recent painting is displayed in the Window's Into History 'precursor' to The Smithsonian Exhibit in August.
As a businesswoman, she worked for many years as a paralegal for a top lawyer in downtown Dallas. She then was discovered by the owner of Safeco Land Title who brought her on as her personal assistant where she worked her way to vice-president. Upon marrying her soulmate, she enjoyed working for a college art department for a time and also as a mortgage loan officer.
As a wife, she married the love of her life back in 1980. Two souls that became one. A beautiful bond on so many levels for 34 years. The personal joy from the perfect match along with doing good things for so many people made them the ultimate POWER COUPLE!
As a humanitarian, she was, simply, "GOOD PEOPLE," connecting with and contributing to her small town community. She enjoyed being active in numerous organizations: secretary of the Lions Club, Garden Club member, the director of the 9/11 Memorial Event, a member of The Main Street Board, and Friends of Mission Delores. Living out the rest of her years with her San Augustine, Texas, family, truly made her happy!
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Divini Creech; son, Houston WW Harrison; granddaughter, Misty Creech; brothers-in-law, Rick Harrison; sister-in-law, Sheila Ramey and son Tracey; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow "Woody" Harrison; her parents, Beryl and Juanita Ramey; and brother, Robert Ramey.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 5, 2024, at Wyman Roberts Memorial Chapel, located at 316 W. Columbia Street in San Augustine.
