Gwenda Arnold

Gwenda Arnold, age 73, of Diboll, Texas, passed away Saturday, June 27, 2026, at Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center in Houston, Texas.

Born in Crockett, Texas, Gwenda attended Latexo ISD and carried the values of faith, family, and kindness with her throughout her life.

For the last 17 years, Gwenda made her home in Diboll, Texas, with her daughter, son-in-law, and grandsons. Through marriage, she was also blessed with two bonus children, whom she loved as her own. Family was always at the center of her life, and she found her greatest joy in raising her daughter alongside their growing family.

Her grandsons, Christopher Sikes and Gunner Sikes, were the light of her life. She never missed an opportunity to cheer them on, whether it was a basketball game, baseball game, 4-H competition, heifer show, or goat show. No matter what they were involved in, Mammie was always their biggest supporter, celebrating every achievement and encouraging them every step of the way.

Gwenda's faith was the foundation of her life. Even when her health made it difficult to attend church in person, she remained devoted, faithfully watching services through online livestreams and finding strength and comfort in God's word.

When she wasn't following her grandsons to their activities, you could often find her curled up on the couch with one of the boys, watching cooking competitions together and good-naturedly debating who would win. Those simple moments became treasured memories that her family will hold close forever.

Gwenda will be remembered for her unwavering love, her steadfast faith, and the joy she found in caring for those around her. Her legacy lives on in the family she cherished and in the countless memories she helped create.

Though she is no longer with us in body, her love will remain forever in our hearts. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Her survivors include her daughter, Leann Sikes and husband John of Diboll, Texas; bonus daughter, Annette Green and husband Michael of Carrollton, Texas; bonus son, Tim Arnold and wife Dawn of Midway Texas; a brother, Ken Marsh and wife Judy of Latexo, Texas; grandchildren, Chris Sikes and Gunner Sikes, both of Diboll, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ethridge and Bertha Marsh; a brother, James Marsh; and a sister, Joyce Hughes.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 10, 2026, at Good Shepherd Fellowship Church, 401 S. 7th Street in Crockett, with Bro. Audice Leon Wallace officiating.
