Ida B. (Milstead) Miller, age 73, of Huntington passed away Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at Castle Pines Care Center in Lufkin.
She was born April 25, 1951, in Center to parents Mary (Arnold) and Herman Milstead. Ida was proud of her heritage, being Texas born and raised.
She never met a stranger, always easily making friendships. Ida loved her family--she was a grandma first and everything else followed. She was a caregiver in the family, taking care of her parents until their deaths.
Ida maintained her independent nature. On one of her last days, she was asked what she wanted to eat and she told the sweet lady she wanted a frozen Dr Pepper and then smiled at her because she knew she wasn’t supposed to have it!
Her survivors include her daughter, Jamie Wright and husband William; granddaughters, Kaylee Wright and Kandyce Sheets; grandsons, Zach Milstead and Jonathon Davis; a sister, Sue Massie; and a brother, Jerry Terry.
A Celebration of Life memorial service is set for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 10, 2024, at Wyman Roberts Funeral Home Chapel, located at 316 W. Columbia Street in San Augustine.
