Iris Nell "Sis" Butler

Mrs. Iris Nell "Sis" Butler of Chireno, Texas, passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at her residence at the age of 86 years and 1 day.

Mrs. Butler was born June 16, 1940, in Chireno, Texas, to parents Ira and Lina (Wilson) Garrett. She had been a longtime resident of the area and a member of Ratcliff Church of Christ. "Sis" loved her family and was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother.

Her survivors include her son, Rodney Butler of Chireno, Texas; daughter, Cindy Guarnere and husband Mike of Chireno, Texas; grandchildren, Bradley Noble of Chireno, Texas, Courtney Thomas and husband DeVonte of Lufkin, Texas, Colin Noble and wife Kaylee of San Augustine, Texas, Corey Guarnere and wife Kim of Bronson, Texas, and Vincent Guarnere and wife Lora of Indiana; great-grandchildren, Arie Thomas, Hayze Thomas, Kylo Thomas, Kreed Pearson, Kross Pearson, Koast Noble, Avery Guarnere, and Jameson Guarnere; a brother, Kenneth Garrett of Chireno, Texas; a sister, Mary Lou Benefield of San Augustine, Texas; and host of other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Butler; and a brother, Wayne Garrett.

Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. Friday, June 19, 2026, at Wyman Roberts Funeral Home, located at 316 W. Columbia Street in San Augustine, Texas.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 19, 2026, at the Wyman Roberts Memorial Chapel with Elton Goodwin officiating. Committal service and interment will follow at Lower Chireno Cemetery, located off FM 95 South.
