Mr. Jack Stephen "Jackie" Stubblefield, age 73, of Chireno, Texas, passed away Friday, May 17, 2024, at Nacogdoches Medical Center.
He was born April 3, 1951, in Nacogdoches to parents Jack and Freddie (Williamson) Stubblefield and was a resident of the Chireno area for most of his life and was a member of Chireno Baptist Church. Jackie had a great passion for the outdoors with countless hours enjoyed hunting and fishing, as well as gardening and was known for great vegetable harvests. He loved his time with his family.
Jackie worked as a heavy equipment operator with various companies in the area. He retired from Nacogdoches County Precinct 4, where he had operated a motor grader for a number of years.
His survivors include his wife, Rose Marie (Ryan) Stubblefield of Chireno; daughter, Amanda Devenport and husband Dwayne of Huntington; son, David "Bubba" Cooper Jr. of Chireno; grandchildren, Gregory Parrish, Holly Cooper, Allen Cooper, Allana Cooper, Skylar Devenport, and Kooper Devenport; brothers, George Stubblefield and wife Inez of Chireno and Richard Stubblefield and wife Ann of Chireno; sisters, Stacy Corley and husband Ted of Garrison and Shelly Lackey and husband Jay of Nacogdoches; and a sister-in-law, Billy Stubblefield of Chireno.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Freddie Stubblefield; brothers, James Stubblefield and Mark Stubblefield; and a granddaughter, Haley Cooper.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, May 20, 2024, at Wyman Roberts Funeral Home, located at 316 W. Columbia Street in San Augustine.
Funeral services are set for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at the Wyman Roberts Funeral Home Chapel. Committal service and interment will follow at the Broaddus Cemetery in Broaddus.
Pallbearers: Logan Stubblefield, Hunter Perkins, Dwayne Devenport, Roscoe Allen, Michael Cooper, and Andrew Geisleman.
