Mr. Jason Warren Hoffman, age 44, of San Augustine County passed away Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at Stone Creek Care Center in San Augustine.
Jason was born May 13, 1980, in Nacogdoches County, Texas, to parents Gayla Howell Hoffman and Clarence Travis Hoffman Jr. He grew up in San Augustine County and later lived in Colorado and Montana before moving back to his native East Texas a number of years ago.
Early in life, he enjoyed outdoor activities, such as hunting and fishing, and worked with tractors, baling hay and other ag/farm related tasks. Jason developed a great love for video games and was a collector of dragons.
His survivors include a son, Gabriel Warren Hoffman of San Augustine; his mother, Gayla Howell Hoffman of San Augustine; his brother, Allen H. Hoffman of San Antonio; an aunt, Pamela Howell Hammack and husband Troy of San Augustine; a close friend, Jodi Hoffman of San Augustine; and host of cousins and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Travis Hoffman Jr.; paternal grandparents, Clarence Travis Hoffman Sr. and Choicy Mae Smith Doyen; and his maternal grandparents, Bernon Allen Howell and Zama Nichols Howell.
Visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m. Friday, January 17, 2025, at Wyman Roberts Funeral Home, located at 316 W. Columbia Street in San Augustine.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 17, 2025, at Shiloh Cemetery, located off FM 354 on County Road 220 in San Augustine County.
Pallbearers: Granvil Fountain, Mason Fountain, Ben Byley, Robert Byley Jr., James Page, and Jodi Hoffman, with Tracy Hammack as an honorary pallbearer.
