Jeremy Lawrence Verhalen

Mr. Jeremy Lawrence Verhalen passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at the age of 45.

Jeremy Lawrence Verhalen of Broaddus, Texas, was born November 24, 1979, to his loving parents, Joe and Peggy Verhalen of San Augustine, Texas. After graduating San Augustine High School, Jeremy spent his career in the electrical infrastructure industry specializing as a barehand lineman where he had the privilege of working with his eldest son Zachary and many beloved friends.

Known for his love of the outdoors, Jeremy found joy in hunting, fishing, golfing, and cooking, always ready to share his latest catch or a delicious meal with family and friends. His sense of humor was contagious, and he had an uncanny ability to make those around him laugh, even in the toughest of times. Above all, he was a man with the biggest heart, always putting others before himself and offering his love and support to everyone in his life. Whether gathered around the dinner table or out enjoying nature, he cherished the time spent with his family, creating lasting memories that will forever be treasured.  He will be missed dearly by all those who knew him. He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Jennifer N. Verhalen of Broaddus, Texas; his children, Zachary Kyle Lee Verhalen and wife Hannah of Nacogdoches, Texas, Tristan Lynn Verhalen of Broaddus, Texas, Ryder Lawrence Verhalen of Broaddus, Texas, and Ashley Rose Grant and husband Trenton of Broaddus, Texas; grandchildren, Jaxon Wade Verhalen, Adrian, Adalie, and Aaliyah Grant; parents, Joe and Peggy Verhalen of San Marcos, Texas; sisters, Karen Moore and husband Matt of Dallas, Texas, and Kelli “Runt” Marx and husband Mike of Canyon Lake, Texas; and nieces and nephews, Walker and Natalie Moore, and Brooklyn and Keaton Marx.

Visitation will start at 12:00 p.m. with funeral services to begin at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 21, 2024, at Long Pines Baptist Church of Broaddus, located at 8613 FM 83, Broaddus, Texas 75929.

Pallbearers: Ryder Verhalen, Damon Lee, Trenton Grant, Jason Bryan, Charlie Marze, Wesley Perry, Nolan Watson, Kenneth Thompson, Terrance Sullivan, and Larry Moore.

Honorary pallbearers: Matt Moore, Mike Marx, Adam Sharp, Billy Lee, David Lee, Ryan Beasley, and Shane Kovar.
