Mr. Jimmie Glenn Wilson of Broaddus, Texas, passed away Friday, December 2, 2022, at his residence at the age of 76 years, 11 months, 2 days. He was born December 31, 1945, in Canton, North Carolina.
Jimmie was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He worked as a pipe welder for 32 years for Air Products and was very passionate about his profession. After retirement, Jimmie and his beloved wife Debbie moved to Broaddus, Texas, where they lived their dream life of hunting and fishing. Jimmie also spent some of his favorite years as a crappie fishing guide on Lake Sam Rayburn. During some of his free time he also enjoyed going to the Dairy Mart to hang out with some of his buddies. He loved his fur babies, Suzy and Daisy, and his family with all his heart.
Jimmie leaves behind his devoted wife and best friend of 41 years, Debbie Steptoe Wilson of Broaddus, Texas; a son, Kelley Wilson and wife Julie of Pasadena, Texas; son, Chase Ferris and wife Brittany of Onalaska, Texas; daughter, Wendy Barton and Beau of Deer Park, Texas; daughter, Becky Sessums of Onalaska, Texas; grandchildren, Cory Wilson, Haley Seal, Courtney Cooper and husband Ryan, Anthony White and wife Samantha, Casey Barton and Marshall, Cody Barton, Colby Ferris and Memfis, and Chloe Sessums; seven great-grandchildren; brothers, Dale Wilson and wife Diane of Huffman, Texas, Bryan Wilson and wife Tina of Lomax, Texas, and Michael Wilson of Kenefick, Texas; sister, Norma Parrish and husband Kenneth of Deer Park, Texas; special sister-in-law, Evelyn Runnels and husband Calvin of San Augustine, Texas; sister-in-law, Brenda Cox of Marshall, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Kimberly White; father-in-law, Preston Steptoe; mother-in-law, Johnnie Mae Parrill; and two sisters.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 5, 2022, at Wyman Roberts Funeral Home, located at 316 W. Columbia Street in San Augustine, Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 5, 2022, at Wyman Roberts Memorial Chapel with Dr. Wayne Barth, pastor of Broaddus First Baptist Church, officiating. Committal service and interment will follow at Broaddus Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Lucas Holloway, Colby Ferris, James Swift, Nico Birdwell, James Hilliard, and Cory Wilson; with the men of Broaddus First Baptist Church as honorary pallbearers.
