Jimmy Nelson Hilliard

Mr. Jimmy Nelson Hilliard, age 71, of Lufkin, Texas, passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at CHI St. Luke's Medical Center.

Jimmy was born December 30, 1954, in Shelby County, Texas, as a son of Evelyn (McCary) and Roy Nelson Hilliard. He was a former resident of San Augustine County, Texas, and graduate of Broaddus High School. Jimmy had lived in Angelina County, Texas, for the past several years.

He worked several years ago as a welder and then had a truck driving career before retirement. Fishing was a great pastime for Jimmy and he enjoyed many hours pursuing this passion.

His survivors include his wife, Cynthia McElreath of Lufkin; a son, Patrick Hilliard; daughters, Jill Green, Janie Sue Hilliard, and Jennifer Garrett; brothers, Jack Hilliard and James Hilliard; and a host of other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his father, Roy N. Hilliard; mother, Evelyn Parker; and a brother, Jerry Hilliard.
