John Byron Burrows

Mr. John Byron Burrows Jr. of San Augustine, Texas, passed away May 23, 2023, at his residence at the age of 75.

"Byron" was born April 11, 1948, in Houston, Texas, to parents Dr. John Byron Burrows and Ellen Love (Young) Burrows. He obtained a bachelors degree from Stephen F. Austin State University and retired from the Texas Department of Banking as an examiner. Burrows was a member of the Army Reserves and had lived in San Augustine for the past several years.

His survivors include his daughters, Sara Burrows of San Antonio, Texas, and Emily Clark of Fort Collins, Colorado; granddaughters, Catherine and Elizabeth Clark of Fort Collins, Colorado; and sisters, Judy Vance and Elaine Heinze, both of Austin, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. John and Ellen Burrows; and a sister, Cindy Hollenbeck.

A family memorial is being planned for the future.
