Mrs. Johnnie Dell (Jessup) Dumesnil, age 94, of San Augustine County, Texas, passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at Stone Creek Care Center in San Augustine, Texas.
Mrs. Dumesnil was born May 30, 1932, in San Augustine County, Texas, to parents Una (Saunders) and James Sharp Jessup. She was a longtime resident of the Spring, Texas, area before returning to her native area. After several years of service, she retired from the food service department of Klein School District.
Being able to move back to San Augustine County brought great joy and happiness to Johnnie's life. She enjoyed spending time with family and cooking was a great passion for her. Johnnie was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church.
Her survivors include a granddaughter, Amy Burrell of College Station, Texas; great-granddaughters, Gracie Grimes and Kelcie Grimes, both of College Station; a sister, Eunice Fay Jessup of San Augustine County; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Una and James Sharp Jessup; her husband, Ray Albert Dumesnil; sons, Joseph Burrell and Jack Burrell; and several siblings.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 27, 2026, at Wyman Roberts Funeral Home, located at 316 W. Columbia Street in San Augustine, Texas, with Bro. Randy Mills officiating. Commital service and interment will follow at Thomas Cemetery.
