Joyce Watson

Joyce Watson, age 86, of San Augustine, Texas, passed from this life Tuesday, June 25, 2024, in Lufkin, Texas.  She was born December 17, 1937, in Nacogdoches County, Texas, to parents William W. and Alpha Docia (McDaniel) Watson. 

Faith and Family were important parts of Joyce's life and they intertwined.  She had a great love for her family, especially her children and grandchildren.  Joyce was faithful in service to her Lord and the study of the Bible.  She was dedicated in helping others learn and experience spiritual growth as well.  She was a member of San Augustine Missionary Baptist Church. 

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Amy Horne and husband Jimmy Ray, Wesley Pate, Jr. and wife Mary, and Benje Holloway and husband Joey; grandchildren, Crystal Horne and Steven, Jacob Horne and Stacy, James Pate and Yolanda, Christina Seago and Lamar, Justin Holloway, Lucus Holloway and Leah, and Joshua Holloway and Kimberly Richard; great-grandchildren, Levi and Janna Rae Sowell, William, Dakota, and Harper Horne; Gavin and Pepper Pate, Elijah Graves, Laney and Ian Wyman, Dylan and Maggie Seago, Jaleigh Nichole, Aydn Lee, Preslee Jade, Kaysen Vance, Kyler Lee and Kade Axel Holloway, Layla and Lindsey Holloway and Ki'mya Holloway. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, William W. Watson and Alpha Docia Watson; siblings, Melvin Watson, Sybil Fountain, Lorine Wiatt, Alva Nell Lakey, Stella Watson, Elvin Watson, Calvin Watson, Jim Watson, Sr., and granddaughter, Racine Graves. 

Pallbearers included, Lucas Holloway, Joshua Holloway, Will Horne, Jacob Horne, James Pate, Steven Sowell and Dakota Horne. 

Graveside Services were held  9 a.m. Saturday, June 29, 2024, in the Liberty Hill Cemetery, with Bro. T.A. Lane officiating.   

Services entrusted to Wyman Roberts Funeral Home in San Augustine, Texas.
