Linda Susan Murphy Nelson passed away Sunday, May 24, 2026, in Jasper, Texas, after a battle with cancer. She was born April 28, 1953, in Fort Worth.
She was a woman of faith that did not wear it on her sleeve. Instead, she showed it in her actions. She was a strong woman in every way.
Linda's passion was to sing and play the guitar. She was a performer with an incredible voice. First with "McReynolds and Murphy." Next with her band "Murphy's Law." Then with "Glass Onion" taken from the song by The Beatles. They were never world famous, but well-known around the DFW area. All of this while working at Xerox Corporation and eventually retiring from there. She was especially proud of being part of a team that won the Malcolm Baldrich Award for customer service excellence.
Her survivors include her husband, Patrick Brandon Fussell; a brother, Richard Murphy and his wife Melinda; nephew, Taylor Murphy and his wife Kim; a niece, Adrian Murpy and her husband, Mike Gruccio; stepson, Joey Nelson and his wife Stephanie; and stepdaughter, Brandy Clamon.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Dorothy Murphy.
