Lynda Lou (Scott) Wood

Mrs. Lynda Lou Scott Wood, age 84, of San Augustine, Texas, passed away Sunday, February 23, 2025, at her residence.

Lynda was born August 23, 1940, in Newton, Texas, to parents Pauline (Whittington) Scott and George Adam Scott. She had lived in San Augustine for most of her life, however, she previously lived in Hemphill and Sabine County. She was a 1959 graduate of Hemphill High School.

She was a longtime paraprofessional employee for the San Augustine Independent School District. Following her career with the school district, she worked several years operating a childcare service assisting many local families through the years.

Lynda was married to Vilas Delon "Boog" Wood on January 31, 1959, and he preceded her in death on June 23, 2009.

Her survivors include her children, Ricky Wood and wife Connie of Humble, Texas, and Greg Wood and wife Felicia, Rebecca Wood Whitton, and Shelley Wood Dailey and husband Richard, all of San Augustine, Texas; a "dog daughter," Cecilia "CeCe" Wood; grandchildren, Scott Whitton and wife Brittany, Reed Dailey and wife Tessie, Krissy Wood Oelberg and husband Andrew, Chelsea Wood, Zachary Dailey, Catherine Whitton, Daniel Wood, and Rachel Wood; great-grandchildren, Keenen, Olivia, Ava, and Phoenix Dailey, Charlotte Oelberg, and Jed "Reese" Williams; a sister-in-law, Nancy Scott; and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Pauline and George Adam Scott; brothers, George Patton "Pat" Scott and Don L. Scott; and her sister, Carolyn Scott Hargrove and husband Floyd.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 26, 2025, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Wyman Roberts Funeral Home, located at 316 W. Columbia Street in San Augustine, Texas.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at the Wyman Roberts Memorial Chapel with Bro. Ricky Wood officiating. Committal service and interment will follow at Liberty Hill Memorial Garden, located on Highway 147 North in San Augustine.

Pallbearers: Scott Whitton, Reed Dailey, Zachary Dailey, Daniel Wood, Richard Dailey, and Keenen Dailey.
