Mr. Malcolm D. Goss, age 73, of San Augustine, Texas, passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler, Texas.
Malcolm was born March 8, 1952, in Raleigh, North Carolina, to parents Ann (Hatcher) and Malcolm Goss Sr. He had lived in San Augustine County since 2007, moving to the area from Huntington, Texas. He was a longtime member of the Masonic Lodge. Malcolm grew up in the Episcopal Church and been worshiping in the Baptist faith for the past several years. He loved animals, the family dogs and cat, as well as tending to the cattle.
He worked as a carpenter for many years and had also worked Frito-Lay, as well as driving for Haney Trucking. Malcolm enjoyed riding motorcycles. He enjoyed archery and also pistol target practicing.
His survivors include his wife, Brenda Goss of San Augustine; daughters, Chastidy Monkress and Wayne of Rusk, Texas, Dana Long and Dustin Ballew of Rusk, Texas, and Staci McCall and Tony of Indian Trail, North Carolina; a sister, Mary Ann Kimble and Charlie of West Chester, Ohio; grandchildren, Danielle Lankford and Josh, Chase Goodwin and Elizabeth, Kristen Wilde and J.J., Ashlyn Long, Braxton Ballew, Annsleigh Ballew, and Haven Holder; and great-grandchildren, Ava Goodwin and Ronnie Wayne Goodwin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ann (Hatcher) and Malcolm D. Goss Sr.
Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Wyman Roberts Funeral Home, located at 316 W. Columbia St. in San Augustine, Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Wyman Roberts Memorial Chapel with Bro. Jon Collins officiating. Interment will follow at Liberty Hill Memorial Garden.
