Mrs. Mary Edith Lewis, age 87, of San Augustine County, Texas, passed away Saturday, May 7, 2022, at Colonial Pines Healthcare Center.
Mrs. Lewis was born December 26, 1934, in San Augustine County to parents Loucious J. Sanders and Zora Roberts Sanders. "Edith" was a lifelong area resident and retired following many years as a restaurant cook in the Broaddus/San Augustine area.
Her survivors include her sons, James Earl Bryan and Roy Allen Bryan and his wife, Malinda, all of San Augustine County; a brother, Alvis Rudolph Sanders; two granddaughters, Amanda Ann Cripe and Cheri Lynn Bryan; three great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, J.L. and Zora Sanders; her husband, Harmon G. Lewis; a brother, Curtis Sanders; and sisters, Reba Sanders and Melva Jean Wagstaff.
A Celebration of Life memorial service is being planned for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 2, 2022, at Macedonia Cemetery in Broaddus, Texas, with inurnment at Macedonia Cemetery.
