Mattie Lorraine (Sanders) Martin

Mrs. Mattie Lorraine (Sanders) Martin, age 77, passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2022, in Lufkin, Texas.

Mrs. Martin was born November 1, 1944, in Chireno, Texas, to parents Audrey Maydell (Axley) and Lloyd Freeman Sanders.

Her survivors include her sons, Kenneth W. Boone of Chino, California, and Richard E. Martin Jr. and Lugene of Eauclaire, Wisconsin; a daughter, Sheree Welch and Ted of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Eugene Martin; her parents, Audrey Maydell and Lloyd Freeman Sanders; a son, Daniel W. Boone Sr.; a grandson, Kenneth E. Boone; her sister, Bobbie Lee; and brothers, Elbert Sanders, Charlie Sanders, and Perry Sanders.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Sunday, March 27, 2022, at Wyman Roberts Funeral Home, located at 316 W. Columbia St. in San Augustine, Texas.

Funeral services are set for 3:00 p.m. Sunday, March 27, 2022, at the Wyman Roberts Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Attoyac Cemetery, located at 600 FM 3316 in San Augustine County, Texas.
