Melanie Jean (Eighme) Trammel

Mrs. Melanie Jean Trammel, age 62, of San Augustine passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at Stone Creek Nursing Center in San Augustine.

Mrs. Trammel was born June 1, 1962, in Norfolk, Virginia, to parents Marylou and Dean Willis Eighme. She had lived in San Augustine for several years. Melanie devoted much of her life to caring for others, working many years as a nurse before retiring due to health.

Her survivors include her husband, Gary Waid Trammel of San Augustine; sons, Mark Waid Trammel of San Augustine, John William Trammel of Danbury, Matthew Trammel of San Augustine, and Luke James Trammel of San Augustine; a daughter, Rachel Elizabeth Gardner of San Augustine; a brother, Rick Eighme of Angleton; and a host of grandchildren and other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Sharon.

A family memorial is being planned.
