Mrs. Murline Wall, age 90, of Broaddus, Texas, passed away Tuesday, August 5, 2025, in Lufkin, Texas.
Mrs. Wall was born January 9, 1935, in Broaddus to parents Mitchell and Mary (Townsend) Carrell and was a longtime area resident. She was a previous owner of Dairy Mart in Broaddus.
So much of Murline's life revolved around her love for music. She served as pianist at First Baptist Church for 62 years. She retired from Broaddus Independent School District after many faithful years of service in various positions, including that of music teacher. After retiring from the school, she enjoyed operating a resale shop, which many locals dubbed as "The Wall Mart of Broaddus."
Her survivors include her husband of 71 years, William Jerry Wall of Broaddus; daughter, Cindy Woodard and husband Dwight of Broaddus; son, Danny Wall and wife Eve of Broaddus; daughters-in-law, Tish Wall and Tammy Wall, both of Broaddus; sisters, Mary Nell Wall and husband Mike of Broaddus, Sue Nell Pinkard of New Caney, and Vernell Bergan and husband Allen of Lumberton; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mitchell and Mary Carrell; sons, Jerry Alan Wall and Curtis Anthony "Tony" Wall; sisters, Minnie Lou Husband, Joyce Courtney, and Mozell Kingsley; and brothers, Troy Carrell, Leroy Carrell, and Royce Carrell.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 9, 2025, at First Baptist Church of Broaddus, located at 207 Buchanan Street.
Funeral services will begin at 12:00 noon Saturday, August 9, 2025, at First Baptist Church of Broaddus. Committal service and interment will follow at Broaddus Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Lance Woodard, Jared Woodard, Daniel Wall, Brandon Ward, Anthony Wall, and William Wall.
