Nelda Evaughn Poindexter

Nelda Evaughn Poindexter of Jasper passed away Tuesday, July 26, 2022, at Woodland Heights Medical Center in Lufkin at the age of 74 years, 2 months, 16 days.

She was born May 10, 1948, in San Augustine County to parents Morris Benton Poindexter and Nettie (Neeley) Poindexter. She had lived in the Jasper area for the past several years and attended Kincel Chapel Church.

Her survivors include her sons, Michael Brewer and Charlie Brewer, both of Woodville; a brother, Herbert Poindexter of Houston; close friend, Terry Lambert of San Augustine; a host of nieces and nephews, including Debbie Vaughn of Vidor, James Irwin and Carolyn Durbin, both of Jasper, and Janet Marquis of Katy; and many other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, July 28, 2022, at Wyman Roberts Funeral Home, located at 316 W. Columbia Street in San Augustine.

Funeral services are set for 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 29, 2022, at the Wyman Roberts Memorial Chapel with Bro. Ricky Wood officiating. Interment will follow at Attoyac Cemetery in San Augustine County.
