Richard Lee McDaniel

Mr. Richard Lee McDaniel, age 60, of Broaddus, Texas, passed away on Sunday, October 5, 2025, at Longview Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Richard was born July 18, 1965, in Hemphill, Texas, to the late Thurman McDaniel of San Augustine County and Patricia Ann McDaniel, who currently resides in Virginia.

A lifelong resident of San Augustine County, Richard worked for many years as a roofer. He loved the outdoors, good music, and spending time creating things with his hands. His creativity, and deep love for his family will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his mother, Patricia Ann McDaniel of Virginia; son, Andrew McDaniel and wife Nicole of Center, Texas; daughter, Robbie McDaniel of Longview, Texas; grandchildren, Colby and Emily McDaniel of Huntington, Texas, Theotis McKelvey and Ciara Prince of Longview, Texas, and Destiny Ellis; great-grandson, Stetson Ellis of Huntington, Texas; brothers, John McDaniel of Broaddus, Texas, and Robert McDaniel and wife Carie of Chesapeake, Virginia; nephew, Justin McDaniel and wife Luba, and great-niece, Sofia, all of Christiansburg, Virginia; and niece, Bailey McDaniel of Chesapeake, Virginia. He is also survived by numerous extended family members and friends who will forever cherish his memory.

Richard was preceded in death by his father, Thurman McDaniel, along with other beloved family members.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Wyman Roberts Memorial Chapel, 316 W. Columbia Street, San Augustine, Texas.
