Robert Wayne Baker

Mr. Robert Wayne Baker, age 63, of San Augustine, Texas, passed away Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at CHI St. Luke's Medical Center in Lufkin, Texas.

"Wayne" was born June 23, 1962, in DeQuincy, Louisiana, to parents Elizabeth Ann (Sherman) and Robert Clymen Baker. He grew up in San Augustine County and lived in the area most of his life. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and spent many years driving trucks on local runs as well as overland transportation. A great passion in Wayne's life was fishing and he loved spending time with his family and friends.

His survivors include his daughter, Carmen Baker Stephens and her husband Ray of Natchitoches, Louisiana; a grandson, Jackson Stephens of Natchitoches, Louisiana; his mother, Elizabeth Ann Baker of San Augustine, Texas; and his sister, Sheila Baker Hughes and husband Clifton "Scooter" of Center, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert C. Baker, in 2019.

Visitation will be held Friday, January 2, 2026, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Wyman Roberts Funeral Home, located at 316 W. Columbia Street in San Augustine, Texas.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 2, 2026, at the Wyman Roberts Memorial Chapel.
