Sharan Kay Holloway-Cure

Mrs. Sharan Kay Holloway-Cure, age 55, of San Augustine, Texas, passed from this life on Friday, November 7, 2025.

Sharan was a longtime resident of the San Augustine Community. Sharan was born April 24, 1970, in Lubbock, Texas, to Lavane and Bearnice Holloway. She grew up in Milano, Texas, as a child, later moving to the Piney Woods of Deep East Texas in San Augustine County.

She was saved and baptized at the age of 12 at Attoyac Baptist Church. She later became a member of the San Augustine County Cowboy Church. She continued to serve faithfully until the time of her passing.

She attended Milano Elementary School and Huntington ISD. In the year of 1980, she moved into the Broaddus ISD School, where she graduated in the year of 1989. On October 31, 1988, she met the love of her life. On May 14, 1989, she married the love of her life, Jay Cure. They immediately started their lives and had two children, Joshua Travis Cure and Brittany Nicole Cure-Mills.

She began working at Chireno Grocery Store shortly after and worked there for many years. She then started her career in the U.S. Postal Service, serving many people. She loved the people she came in contact with and made a lasting impression on everyone she met and loved to share God's word. She also never failed to show her love or affection for her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Jay Cure; son, Joshua Travis Cure; daughter, Brittany Cure-Mills and husband Erne Mills; grandchildren, Kylee, Rylee, and Tanner Mills; a sister, Stephanie Hoelscher and husband Raymond; brothers, Michael Holloway and fiance Jessica, and Jason Holloway and wife Laura; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lavane and Bearnice Holloway; and a sister, Lillie Arlene Holloway-Hoelscher. 

Visitation will be held Thursday, November 13, 2025, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Wyman Roberts Funeral Home, located at 316 W. Columbia Street in San Augustine, Texas

Funeral services are set for 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 14, 2025, at the San Augustine County Cowboy Church, located on FM 711, with Pastor Chris Burris officiating. Committal service and interment will follow at Attoyac Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Tanner Mills, Travis Cure, Coy J. Boswell, Hunter Hoelscher, Raymond Hoelscher, Erne Mills III, Johnathon Montrose, Karl Ruddick, Cole Fuller, Michael Madison, Ben Blount, and Billy Scwartz. Honorary pallbearers: Jason Holloway and Michael Holloway.
