Sue Poss

Sue Poss, age 81, of San Augustine, Texas, passed away Sunday, August 24, 2025, at her residence.

Mrs. Poss was born September 3, 1943, in Many, Louisiana, to parents Jeanette Lois (Click) and Newton Edward Gandy. She had lived in the San Augustine area for several years. Sue was a longtime member of the Order of the Eastern Star and San Augustine County Cowboy Church.

Her survivors include her husband, Joe Bill Poss of San Augustine; daughter, Dana Dailey and husband P.V. of San Augustine; son, Alfred "Mike" Michael of Cypress; grandchildren, Tiffany Gilstrap and husband Clay, Joe Dailey and wife Chrissy, and Jacob Michael and wife Gabby; great-grandchildren, Hope, Hunter, Maddie Grace, Ella, Huntlee, Steelie, and Baby Gilstrap, Hayden, Mason and Linkin; a brother, Clayton Gandy and wife Sandy of Pasadena; and special friends, Cyndie Bryan and Tonya King.

She was preceded in death by her mother and step-father, Lois and Lewis Jewell; and her father, Newton "Buddy" Gandy.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 28, 2025, at Wyman Roberts Funeral Home, located at 316 W. Columbia Street in San Augustine.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 28, 2025, at Wyman Roberts Memorial Chapel with Bro. Chris Burris officiating. Committal service and interment will follow at McMahan Chapel Cemetery, located near Geneva in Sabine County, Texas.

Pallbearers: P.V. Dailey, Clay Gilstrap, Joe Dailey, Jacob Michael, Hunter Dailey, and Chance Lawson. Honorary pallbearers: Huntlee Anders, Dunk Mills, Jerry King, Lloyd Ford, and Charles Alford.
