Sylvia Ovis (Sullivan) Wallace

Sylvia Ovis (Sullivan) Wallace of Broaddus, Texas, passed away Friday, September 20, 2024, in Lufkin, Texas, at the age of  77. She was born September 28, 1946, in Sabine County, Texas to parents Robert Sullivan and Flossie (Ponder).

She was a homemaker that dedicated her life to creating a warm and loving home, where every meal was a feast and every corner of her house reflected her care and attention. In her younger years, you could find her at local restaurants with her beloved husband Tom. They could sit for hours, never running out of conversation. Their love for each other was boundless and evident to all who knew them. Shopping with her sister was a special pastime, filled with shared laughter and affection. She loved hearing from all her siblings and looked forward to their phone calls. Her son was her pride and joy and she loved him more than words can express. When her grandchildren arrived, they captured her heart completely, and she devoted all her time and energy to them, always willing to do anything and everything for their      happiness, filling their lives with love and unforgettable memories. Her legacy of love extended to her great-grandchildren, who brought her immense joy and pride. Her love and dedication were the foundation of our family and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Broaddus.

Those left to cherish her memory include son Thomas Wallace of Broaddus; granddaughters Meagan Wallace, Lauren Wallace, Sarah Wallace all of Broaddus; great-grandchildren Maddox Wallace, Madden Landry, Ledger Wallace; sisters Evelyn Davis and husband Doyle of Broaddus, Hazel Lewis and husband Tom of Tyler, Helen Wallace of Junction, Opal Thacker of Norwood, Brenda Riggs of Toledo Town, La.; brothers Don Sullivan and wife Tina of Hebron, Roger Sullivan of Houston; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband Thomas Wallace, Sr.; brothers Clark Sullivan and wife Mary, R. L. Sullivan; sisters Lorene Bolton, Christene Humble.

Pallbearers include Tylor Landry, Don Sullivan, Todd Sullivan, Charles Thacker Jr., Trea Thacker, Lee Daugherty.  Honorary Pallbearers are Maddox Wallace and Ledger Wallace.

Visitation will be Monday, September 23, 2024, starting at 5:00pm, Trinity Baptist Church, Broaddus, Texas.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at 2:00pm, at Trinity Baptist Church, Broaddus, Texas, with Bro. Don Lofton officiating. Committal will follow at Hebron Cemetery.
