Mr. Tracy Alan Pike, age 66, of San Augustine, Texas, passed away Saturday, May 24, 2025, in Lufkin, Texas.
He was born September 25, 1958, in San Augustine, Texas. Growing up in San Augustine, Tracy became an active member at an early age of the Memorial Presbyterian Church. As a young boy, he played Little League baseball and enjoyed his time as a Boy Scout, which probably led to his love of serving others. Tracy graduated from San Augustine High School in 1977, where he was involved with choir and band.
There was seldom, if ever, a birthday that went by that he didn't send a birthday card to one of the kids in the family. You could always count on getting a cool card from Uncle Tracy. One of his favorite traditions was decorating the front yard and pasture for Saint Patrick's Day. There would be Irish music playing, shamrock cookies, and Leprechaun punch for anybody who would like to stop by for a visit. Little ones would take snacks down to the big pecan tree in the pasture for the "little people." As soon as it started to get dark, you could start to see the glowing fairies appear among the grasses in the pasture. of all the holidays, Halloween was Tracy's favorite. He loved decorating the house and driveway in hopes that kis would come by to enjoy the thrills and refreshments of this exciting holiday. Other things he enjoyed were gardening, cooking, and all styles of music.
Tracy worked at Chireno Bank for five years, then moved to Tyler where he worked for First Financial bank; afterwards he started a new job working for the City of Tyle. He moved back home and started working for the Body Shop. Even though Tracy was always busy working, he always made time for McRae Cemetery, where he served as president of the McRae Cemetery Association for 26 years. Throughout his life he lived to serve others and those in need. He definitely lived his life with a servant's heart.
He was preceded in death by his father, Albert E. Pike Sr.; grandparents, Emory and Estelle Pike and Joe and Robie McBride.
Tracy is survived by his mother, Opal McBride Pike; brother, Ed Pike; sister, Michelle Pike Berry; and half-sister, Connie Borden of Mustang, Oklahoma.
