Mr. William Morris "Bill" Cook, age 79, of San Augustine passed away Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at Summit Health Care Center in San Augustine.
Mr. Cook was born February 14, 1944, in Austin, Travis County, Texas, to parents Morris G. Cook and Martha (Hollis) Cook. He was a longtime resident of the Austin area before retiring to San Augustine County ten years ago. He attended St. Elias Eastern Orthodox Christian Church and retired as a publisher's copy editor.
His survivors include his wife of over 37 years, Cheryl Cook of San Augustine; a sister, Gretchen Fenske and husband Thomas of Chapel Hill, North Carolina; nephews, Jason Johnson and Casey Johnson; niece Audrey Fenske; sister-in-law, Deborah Woods and husband Donald of San Augustine; nephew, Joey Woods and wife Heather; and great-nephews, Jesse Woods and wife Courtney and Case Woods and fiance Allison Bennett.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. Friday, September 29, 2023, at Wyman Roberts Funeral Home, located at 316 W. Columbia Street in San Augustine.
Prayers will be said at 3:00 p.m., followed by the funeral service, at Wyman Roberts Chapel with Father David Barr and Father Nasi Kombos officiating. Committal service and interment will follow at Macune Cemetery, located off Hwy. 147 South in San Augustine County.
Pallbearers: Joey Woods, Jesse Woods, Case Woods, Larry Epps, Rodney Fox, and Sergio Duarte. Honorary pallbearers: Donald Woods, Roy Griffin, Thomas Fenske, and John Belquist.
